This is a grower. But it’s a damn fast grower! What makes this significant though, is the fact that Space’s first two albums provided instant joy for my aural senses, but now they hardly get an outing. I feel the very fact that ‘Suburban Rock ‘n’ Roll’ has commanded a more concentrated listening effort, bodes well for a priority place in my playlist, not just now, but for many years to come.

Having said all this, the title track, ‘Hitch Hiking’, and ‘The English Language’ (A more upbeat re-working of a song originally made available for download through the website) couple instant ear candy with lyrical oil slicks. It’s tracks such as ‘Punk Rock Funeral’, ‘Pretty Suicide’, and ‘Hell’s Barbeque’, that demand closer attention ... read more
